Umalas Area (Umalas 2)
Overview
Description
Situated within a private tropical oasis in an established villa neighbourhood just five kilometres from buzzing Seminyak, Bali’s fashion, dining and entertainment hub. The villa is a living work of art and a veritable feast for the senses. Its hand-hewn timber gate leads you over a tranquil koi pond, blooming with fuchsia water lilies and appointed with larger-than-life ceramic vases. The living room is furnished with a pair of matching sofas, hand-carved with ethnic designs and whitewashed for a clean, sophisticated look. Stunning views of the swimming pool and surrounding gardens take centre stage. Seven restored joglo pavilions make up Villa Ka, housing five bedrooms, a living area, kitchen and dining area, and television lounge between them. These traditional wooden structures were originally the preferred dwellings of royal and aristocratic Javanese families. The Manager greets guests with freshly opened coconuts filled with rehydrating coconut water. Bapak Ngurah has plenty of experience in the hospitality industry from his years working on cruise ships, and is a great source of local tips and information. Guests have the option to stock up on groceries at one of the nearby markets such as the expatriate favourite, Bali Deli on Jalan Kunti, or ask the staff to shop for them for a minimal fee. Complimentary breakfast is prepared daily and for a royal pampering a private chef can be hired to prepare lunch and dinner from a suggestion menu that includes Western and Asian dishes ranging from Mexican Fajitas to Thai Chili Shrimp Skewers and Mango Chicken Salad.
